After Ukraine we came to Turkey where we spent time with the family and then hiked Lycian Way for 6 days.
We flew to Fethiye where we met with couple of friends and relaxed before the hike.
We had a day to explore Fethiye – a nice touristic town with quaint harbor, good seafood and turquoise water.
The following day we drove to the beginning of the hike and the fun started:

The hike was more challenging than we expected. We were slow with Sophia wanting to get out of backpack or carrier frequently. But the views were amazing. The hike was going along the Mediterranean coast so we always had great views of the coastline and the sea.

Bringing a coffee maker to the hike was a great idea!

Sophia enjoyed looking around or sleeping while we were hiking. She also walked a little bit too. But most of the time the biggest distance we covered was when she was sleeping:)

We also managed to swim couple of times during our trek in the empty beach because the beach season has not started yet. The water was refreshing and crystal clear.

Sophia was not a fan of accessories such as sunhat but agreed to put on sunblock and a windbreaker.

We were lucky because it was a time of the year when all the flowers were blooming. Sophia learned the word “papatia” with means chamomile in Turkish and she kept saying it over and over again.

The road was not always easy, there were few places with lose rock and quite steep. There was also few parts where we had to rock scramble. I was only able to make it because Baris was there holding my hand.

We also encountered many animals on our ways such as cats, goats, cows, chickens and roosters.

And again fantastic views!

We had fun on our lunch breaks and relaxed in beautiful guesthouses.

It was super cool to meet legendary Kate Clow who created Lycian Way trek and wrote a book that is like a “bible” for Lycian Way trekkers.

Unfortunately everything good comes to an end. The highlight of the last day was a relatively easy road with a cave on our way and invitation to eat as many blackberries from the tree as we wanted and then the car picked us up where we had sparking wine to celebrate the end of the hike.

And Sophia enjoyed the soft bed and a day on the beach back in Fethiye.
