Will start with some cute photos from Christmas photo-shoot done by our friend and family photographer Alexandra Timofeeva

As always there was a lot of new things this month. By the end of 11 months Sophia could say 6 words intentionally. She was saying ‘mama’ and ‘papa’ long time ago, so the new words that got added are ‘bye bye’ together with waving gesture, ‘kaka’ to initiate her favorite game, ‘kotik’ for the cat, and ‘baba’ as Turkish word for “papa”.
Here is Sophia initiation game “kaka”. It started with me telling her “kaka” which means “shit” in children language in Ukraine when she would pick up some things from the floor and put them into mouth. Next thing I see is Sophia looking at me, picking up some dust ball from the floor putting it in her mouth, sticking out her tong showing this dust ball, saying “kaka” and laughing. This how the game started. Since then she would put her finger in her mouth, says “kaka” and laugh expecting me to come, say “no, no, kaka” and look for an object in her mouth. She found it super funny. She did it over and over and over this month.
Here is Sophia practicing using utensils.
We also pilled some banana and road papa like a horse
We enjoyed very much MOMA, Charles White exhibit was amazing!

This month we celebrated First Birthday by taking Sophia to a playground for a first time.
And when Sophia fell asleep we really celebrated.

Also the process of falling asleep at night has changed as well. Before I had to always dance with Sophia, rock her to sleep, but this month I just turn off the light and put her to bed, lie down next to her and sing. She started falling asleep like this.

I loved Sophia saying “kaka”
